The opiod epidemic is leading to more grandfamilies across the country.

According to CBS news and in agreement with JFRF’s own research, “more than one million American children now live with grandparents, primarily because of their parent’s addiction to opiods and other drugs: crack, heroin, meth and alcohol.” In this news segment that aired on the television show 60 Minutes on August 19th, this rampant issue is robbing children of their childhood and causing grandparents to put off their retirement and put self-care aside to care for the grandchildren they love. Click here to view the story.
